What Equipment Is Needed For Body Beast?

The “Real Deal” Body Beast Workout Review
I was thinking of combining body beast and insanity. This narrows the choices down to David P Makowski says: Keeley Electronics Psi Fuzz. Thanks for the reviews!

What Is Body Beast?

Top 25 Best Fuzz Pedals of 2016

Hey there if you can get minutes then yes, but if you cannot them maybe take a peak at P90X3 https: Hi Chris I just ordered Body Beast. I have been working out with a trainer and now have to travel for work so I thought this would be a great way to continue my strength training.

I am concerned about the diet, but will work that out. Will this workout cause me to bulk up? Honestly that is one of the most common questions here about bulking up! If it were so easy to get jacked up and bulky you would see more jacked up people lol. The truth is adding slabs of muscle is tough. That is not to say you wont build muscle. Hi Chris, Wanted to know what size lbs weights you recommend for women who really want to get cut.

I currently own 5, 8 and 10 lbs. Are there any tips tricks you recommend for women who want to look like their commercials? As far as weights all I can tell you is give it a shot and see. Those might be fine for you or they might be too light. I have a question, I am 24 and have had 2 kids. Sadly I am overweight and have had a hard time getting back into working out. I lose breath quickly and need to lose weight and get fit and healthy again I have all 3 programs BB, T25, and P Not sure what one to start with or to not do them at all.

Well I would say P90 if you are talking about the new P90 that was made more for beginners… otherwise T25 then move onto body beast.

Hey Chris I have been weight training since October and lost some weight. Yeah I mean as long as you are following a plan and keeping the diet in check you will do great with this. I have a beach trip in about 1 month and a half. I have recently lost a lot of weight 20 pounds and pretty thin. In beast body I know you eat a surplus of calories to gain size. Did you follow the nutrition plan?

Should I stay on a calorie deficit? Appreciate the review Of Body Beast. I had never heard of it Until watching a commercial. My goal is to have more defined and muscles. Of course reach a healthy weight. I see you have tried several workouts. Which workout program would you recommend?

Hi Chris, my question would be which program do you think would work best for me. Weight is not the issue with me I would really like my abs tight and toned and maybe a little arm work. I am a road cyclist so my legs get worked all the time and I get enough cardio.

I have P90x and in the past got fair results but would really like to obtain that washboard muscle defined look. My arms could use a little defining but my abs are my big thing.

Would this program work best? Well if it is abs then focus on abs a bit more and of course diet…Seems like you are super active and prob have a crazy metabolism so really start to keep track of what you eat. One question, im a bigger guy around and just under 6 fret. Ive done a lot of lifting and im comfortable in the weight room i just cant seem to slim down ive been doing cardio and trying to eat better for a couple of months.

It comes down to diet man. You might think you are eating right, but have you been writing it all down? It is all math… check your BMR and go to like my fitness pal or spark people and plug your info in…. Chris, I have a bmr question. I am starting BB next week. I am overweight, but there is muscle there too.

The calculator goes by weight. So, my question is: Should I use the whole allotment of calories? I am trying to lose fat, but gain muscle, too. Hey Chris, I was wondering if Body Beast would be right for me. I do play in a lot of sports though and was wondering if my athletics might get in the way?

I think I could still find minutes to do it everyday. It is tough for sure and I always found if I lifted hard during sports season my performance suffered.

I would focus this in the off season to be honest. What are you thoughts on the following….?!?! I a finishing up Block 1 of the lean beast on Sunday. I was wondering what you thought about only doing the Bulk block for 3 weeks and then move onto the Beast block for 6 week?

Honestly whatever works for you and feels good. If it keeps you going then go for it! I really want to tone up. Do you think this would work for me? Johanna this will tighten that skinny fat right up!! If you have the equipment this will give you the road map and the motivation. Now go get it! Would this program be helpful for me? Walking and doing Tae bo. I walk 30 mins on a tread mill at a speed on an incline. Hi Christ, just reading your end and out and the body beast and workout!

Great job answers all there questions!! Look I know that need to workout and started eating right! I just want to know what workout would be great fore me at my ages! Thank you for your kindness! Hey Peggy I think p90x3 would be perfect! Take a peak https: Will Body Beast help me do this or is there a better program? Hey Chris, I just saw that informercial for Beast Body and it looked appealing to me. I am about to start umpiring again soon and wanted to get back into shape.

I want to build muscle but also shed pounds and inches, is this the right workout plan for me in your opinion. Thanks for any information you can give me. Hey Travis, yea man this will do it! Keep your diet in check and put in the time! The leg workout will surely help you if you are behind the plate! I am sure that lb is not friendly to those knees if you are squatting most of the game.

Yea the isnt easy on the lower back or the knees. I need to drop this weight and fast. I am gonna try this program it looks like it will work out well. If you have any other good insight let me know. I had a question im thinking of buying body beast within the next two days but my only thing is i dont want to look manly and when i look at the before and afters for some of the women who did body beast they have a little bit more muscle then i want so do yu think body beast is for me?

Hey Autumn this will help for sure! I think you can give it a shot, but also mix this in with other workouts you might be doing.

I think following this will give your muscles the definition you need for sure! I am in decent shape but not like I want to be. I want to build up my upper body mostly. Not huge but cut. What size weight should I be using? I currently use 20 and 40lb dumbbells 3 to 5 times a week. How quickly do you start to see results? Hey Doug you use the weight that makes you barely get up those last few reps. When you can bust out reps and not push it is time to move up. All my friends do crossfit training and I am unable to do those types of programs because i have had 2 knee surguries ACL replacement then a year later i tore my meniscus.

Do you think I will be able to do the BB? I avoid it for fear of injury. Hey Ro… well I would say with knees like that you would need to ask your doctor or physical therapist what you should be doing as far as the leg workouts. Is this program right for me? Hey Ryan this is really a question for your doctor.

I really have no clue what kind of movements you should or should not be doing. Def ask your physical therapist or doctor first. Will the Bulk or Build phase be more effective? I want to transform my physique to lean with improved chest, abs and arms are a big one, and lastly legs. Would it be a good program to gain functional muscle mass?

And I saw how expensive the supplements are, would the results be any less or the same if I just had a really perfected diet? And lastly does the website constantly charge your card? Because I saw some people who said the website charged their cards automatically without their knowledge. I say go and try it lol. It is not easy. You will get strong for sure! You will look better, feel better. Supplements are great because it can be tough to get all your nutrients in. For you I would say at least try to push in a protein shake or two if you have a fast metabolism.

I think you have an option to buy the supplements with an auto ship setting, so make sure that is not selected and if you ever had issues, a quick 5 minute phone call should solve it. Not so much if I should do it as I know I want to but more so how females should do it. And if not, will BB still be as efficient in toning me up? To sum up, my questions to you are: Hey Donna all I can say is if you have been working hard and not seeing the results you need I think Body Beast will be a plateau buster for you!

Follow the build phase and see how you do. I think you will surprised at just what the first 30 days will do for you.

Funny you should say that as I registered with My Fitness Pal yesterday after writing to you, just to see what my actual calorie intake is. You may well be right in your assumption as yesterday I only took in cals, not enough right…?

Cool good to hear! I mean yea if you only take in calories and you workout for minutes and burn lets say calories that means at the end of the day you have a total surplus of like anywhere from calories, but your BMR is probably like meaning you are burning about calories a day just to live etc…. Hi Chris, I am wondering if Body Beast is for me. Would like your thoughts on this. Hey there pretty much a question for your doctor since any working out is going to elevate your heart level. I think you really need to ask your Doctor what level of exercise you should be doing and then meet with a nutritionist to figure out the right eating plan to help you lose weight that way.

If you eat correctly and track it you can lose weight without exercising, you just need to stick to it. Thank you for the nice review. I am currently training for a marathon. I currently do not lift, I have in the past. Although I never felt like it made much of a difference. About 4 years ago I lost about 50 lbs doing cardio heavy workouts but still have not been able to get a lean midsection. Do you think this program would help with that? Also do you think it would hinder my running training?

Hey Ryan to be honest if you are doing training for a marathon, I might just focus on doing some min ab work 3 times a week, cleaning up the diet and and maybe doing some circuit type training. It really depends on your training schedule and how your body reacts to this type of weight training.

Doh sorry to hear that Eddie! I was able to do a good amount of the workout with 25lb adjustable weights and the exercise ball. They do have an app as well you can use on your phone and take to the gym or just use the workout sheets.

Follow the routine at the gym if you have to and you will get results. I workout days week at gym lifting and doing cardio. Is BB the way to go or is there another program that is better. Need to be able to do it at home due to time constraints. I think if you are looking to do something at home Body Beast will def work for you depending on your fitness level. If you are stronger then you might want to have more weight and a bench…. If you really want to crank up the cardio the give Old School Insanity a try https: I am trying to lose about 10 pounds that I have recently put on.

I am 31, currently weighing lbs. I am trying to get back to around I have been doing Insanity, but my husband is telling me that you can burn more fat by lifting.

My biggest problem area is my upper thighs, butt area. Although, I would enjoy toned everything. I am following the couch to 5k program.

So my question would be 1 Is it okay to do BB every other day in between my running? Will it negatively effect my running progress? Awesome about the color run! I think resistance training with weights is a good thing for you. I bet if you were to mix up your running with BB you will be amazed at the results you get! I would try to do the BB leg workout when you know you have a day or two off.

I bought body beast a couple weeks ago. Should I be doing any other workout? Awesome glad to hear! Biggest thing with those areas are diet.

Body beast is going to work your whole body out, but those last pounds of fat need to come from creating that calorie deficit. Now I decided to do it back to be in shape for the summer.. What do u recommend me? Hey there yeah that would work! The truth is either one of those workouts will get you to your goals if you follow them and figure out what you need to be eating.

Georgina how old are you? You can be lbs and be skinny fat because you eat garbage or you can actually be lbs toned and lean because you feed your body all proper nutrients and fats. Good luck on your fitness endeavors. Chris, a little unclear as to exactly what weights are required. Is it dumbells of a certain weight and, if so, how many are required? Does nobody actually read the review??

That will work for awhile, but you will want to move up eventually. Hi Chris, I am a 51 year old male. I just finished my first 9 weeks of Body Beast. I have plenty of fat to loose but since I have already lost 10 pounds and can see significant muscle growth, so I have decided to do another round of bulk. I do not want to just do 90 days and stop I want this to be my life style change.

I have and love P90X but I just want to get back to lifting weights and need the shorter workouts. Just wondering if and when I should start Beast or do some more Build after another round of Bulk. I have yet to get to any of the Tempo, Lucky 7 or Total Body so it can only improve.

What are your thoughts? I mean listen it all depends what kind of shape you are in and how you are mixing it up… The workout is set up in a certain way to give body parts a break. So I would say if you are in great shape and want to push past some plateaus then maybe give it a go for 2 weeks and see, but remember rest is important. If you are going to push like that you better be getting at least 8 hours of sleep a need and fueling your body with the right foods, proteins, and supplements.

We are looking at purchasing body beast to start in April but I am wondering if it would be the right program for me. I have not had any significant results with T25 but I am going to finish out the program and hope that Gamma will do something for my body.

Anyway, with someone my size, do you think body beast would help me to lost the weight and inches while toning my body or do you think another program would suite me better? I did the 21 day fix for several months prior to T25, I just really want to work on building some muscle and shrinking my body.

Thanks for your feedback. You should be for sure… Dropping the pounds really comes down to diet. So get your numbers in order and right it down. Beast is a great workout for sure and will help you build that muscle which will help burn fat, so I think yes it will help you for sure, but you need to be keeping that diet in check.

What is your typical diet like? Sorry it took me so long to see this. My diet has been pretty great since September when I started the 21 day fix. We moved on to T25 in January and just recently we have been slacking a little, I think part of that is caused by not seeing results from all my hard work. I know, not a great excuse lol. I was told that I should read this article http: Any ideas about this?

This is all foreign to me and I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I want to make sure I go at this the correct way, to lose the weight I am still carrying around while toning up. Why does this all have to be so confusing. How are your results so far with BB??? Have you seen any results??

Thinking about starting the program … I want to lose wight about 25 pounds and get stronger!!! My question is what to do after the 90 days. Do I start over on block 1 or continue on block three? Honestly it all depends on how you are feeling. After you have finished 90 days you should have a good grasp of what your body reacts to better.

I just completed the BB program in its entirety without missing a day! Im ready to start it again and see more results…should I take a week or 2 off? And during that time what would you recommend I do during those weeks off? Great job to say the least. Honestly I know it can be hard to take a break, but sometimes it truly is needed! You might want to take a week, and maybe do 2 days of yoga or some other full body type workouts…… It will keep you mentally going, but give your body some time to relax.

Even if you did nothing for 2 weeks you would be fine as long as you keep your diet in check. That is when things go downhill fast. Waiting for my BB order to arrive, I do lift weights and am a cardio lover. I read alot about how we do not need as much cardio as we all think. I am so used to doing cardio everyday, even on lift days, is this something I should be ready to change with this program?

And i know diet is important and I am a carbphobia person too, so assuming I will need more carbs in my diet to do this the right way. Again this is another example of really tracking your fitness and eating and knowing your numbers. Get in get your heart rate cranking and get out!

No need for super long cardio unless you need that for some other reason, but look at it like this…. If you are working out twice a day weights and cardio session and lets say you burn calories there. How much are you eating? If you are not eating enough you are going to delay muscle growth and probably have less energy.

I was wondering if Body beast would be a good program for me considering my weight and goal mostly to lose weight. A lot of people recommend that i do cardio, but i find weight training to be more enjoyable! Should i incorporate some cardio into my workout routine or should i focus my time and energy strictly on Body Beast and hope it helps me lose the weight?

Or perhaps just spend some time just on cardio. I tend to get fustrated because most people that give reviews on BB are some what fit or just not as overweight as my myself. In all, can BB help me lose a significant amount of weight?

Hey Sarah any workout can help you lose weight if you keep up with the diet. It really will come down to calories in and calories out… creating a calories deficit. There is some cardio in this workout as well and it is pretty intense.

You might want to look at https: I started T25 then. My son asked me about bulking up. BB happened to be on tv that night. We just ordered it yesterday. He will bulk, I will lean.

Let me know if you want to buddy up. Thanks Chris for your info. After ordering, I wanted to see some more reviews.

Yours has been very helpful! I look forward to what BB can bring. Yeah first week or so you will be sore, but make sure you are eating right and you get a good solid nights sleep.

Hi Chris, I was wondering, if the body beast would be good for me. And struggle daily to lose weight but nothing has helped. Hey Brittany have you worked out much before? If not you might want to take a peak at https: I would think getting a good fitness regimen will only help, but I am not a DR.

What do the doctors tell you about that? Would BB work for me at my age and height? Or do I do t25? Hey Nick… this is the workout for you then! Follow the workout and really stick to eating healthy and probably a bit more. See how your body responds to this. I know you will do great with it! What would be the best recommendation for a man with those stats? Hi Chris, I just received the BB and was wondering what you would suggest as good starting weights for women.

Just finished week one. This workout will humble you but if u want results this will work. Yeah man that is the truth. Even if you think you are in shape and hitting the gym, this one works ya!! What I do personally is use myfitnesspal. On my I phone. Very easy to use. And it helps keep me in check. You really would be surprised. Chris, do you think this would be safe to hybrid with marathon training? My race is in 2 months. I just bought Body Beast today after seeing the commercial and reading your review.

I thought this might be just what I needed lol. So I have no problem with going for the Bulk phase, and I have no problem eating more lol. Once I finish the 3 months, and take a week or so break, should I do the Lean phasefor 3 months, then back to Bulk and so on? I know that with my body structure I do not have to worry about looking huge, just want to be toned, fit and of course toned abs. Yea I mean you need to see how your body reacts and go from there.

My biggest problem is cellulite on my butt and legs. I really want to tone these problem areas quickly. What program should I be doing? Hey there buttlift might be the better option for you to be honest. Hey, football season is coming up and Im just finishing up p90x. Ive gotten some pretty great results, but I do want to get bigger and more toned muscles. For body beast would you go Lean or Bulk?

I also need to stay in shape as well as pack on more muscle. I mean if you are a linebacker go for bulk, but if you need to be a bit more quicker then go for lean. I bet you have the best season of your life! I have T25 so I think I will do that. Yea I think you should check out Asylum… well part 2 https: It is very sports oriented.

I remember feeling so much faster and agile at about the 3 week mark. I love them but in the Summer I really like to get out and do more running, mountain biking, kayaking, etc. Would Body Beast be a good program to combine with a daily cardio routine or am I biting off more than I can chew? What do you think? Is this a good program for me or should I consider P90X3? Hey Cash yeah I mean it is all what you really want. I think if you are doing a lot of outdoor stuff P90X3 might be a better fit, because the workouts are so varied you are getting such a core workout which will help you more in the stability area.

I really like to do the beast workout for week periods. I find it is a good shock to the system and then I get back into all sorts of fun stuff! I have the usual mid-life sagging that I would like to tighten back up. Is Body Beast for me??? I do need some cardio to lose weight so how much cardio is there in Body Beast? Hey Sandee how are you? Not too much cardio, the cardio routine is just enough I think. Biggest thing is really figure out your diet and following it.

Hey Chris, got another question!! I want to be slim and fit with good muscle tone. Do you think P90 would be better for me or Body Beast? Which one do you think will keep me modivated? And thank you for taking the time to respond!!! I have a question for you I am ordering bb this week, looking forward to it, but my question is if I eat clean while doing the workout will I lean out and tone up? You are still going to get results for sure and great results at that when you eat clean etc….

If you look at real true bodybuilders they know what they are doing and how much they are eating to grow. All depends how serious you are, but you can also find some mass protein shakes to help you out as well. Thank you for the prompt response.

Is the program flexible just as long as you get your workout in? Thanks for your time. Sure I mean doing it at different times is better than not doing it at all right? I try to workout at the same time everyday, but that is just me. Now all we need is an iteration that we can drop into the electronics cavity of a guitar a la Muse or Manson guitars, really.

Oh man, more fuzzes for me to want. I see a lot of people complaining about how every builder has at least one fuzz if not more in their product lineup, like fuzz is some bland cookiecutter effect. My life and bass rig needs some beautiful and thick sub fuzz!!!! This list gets crazier every year.

This article provides a lot of food for thought! So much great fuzzy!! My favorite fuzz though? Amptweaker TightFuzz Pro, sick design and great tone. Also love that Janus Fuzz by Walrus Audio.

Wow, what a great group of fuzz boxes. That thing was so gnarly for its size. As always, great post. There is such a thing as too many fuzz boxes. Zvex fat fuzz factory and the eqd hoof reaper take care of everything in my book. Have tried both, have neither. I recently bought a used Fuzz Factory and started to experiment a bit with it.

If only the newest evolution were not so pricey and hard to find here …. Absolutely phenominal, well made, and does everything I want a traditional box to do and then some.

A comprehensive and detailed set of reviews! The fuzz factory 7 and fuzzolo seem like winners to me! Really want to try the Keeley Monterey as well! Will we always trend towards more and more knobs? Certainly fun trying though. All these interesting takes on fuzz make me want to finally build one for myself, if I can take a break from synths! The name of the Dr. I had the ZVEX Wooly Mammoth in my collection for a year or two and it never really blew me away, except that it sounded unusual and snarly.

Now Zvex has won back my heart. I have high hopes for the new Fuzz Factory. And I love that kitty design. You guys should review a pedal from Abominable electronics. They are an independent pedal brand who mod and create pedals….

I tried the big muff pi tone wick. I liked it, super heavy with nice sustain. The fat fuzz factory is the one though.

I researched a number of fuzz boxes on Youtube since there were so many available. I decided to purchase a vintage style over the more modern fuzz because I wanted a warmer sound. I purchased it because of the reviews and think I found a sound tone that I have been wanting for forty years and not knowing it. The Hartman produces a warm sound with what can only be described as the most musical effect I have ever tried and combined with a Tube Screamer up front is to die for.

One other reason i am convinced this may be one of the best pure fuzz box out there is that it made my JCM , a problematic Marshall for some because of diode clipping, sing like an older Marshall.

I also used a Kramer Artist aluminum alloy necked guitar which was responsible for the incredible sustain and contributed the plethora of harmonics that came out of the rig. It does exactly what I want a fuzz to do. You should give one a try. Single-note leads sound creamy and rounded, and complex chords all have their voices; nothing muddy or splatty or horrid.

Even works well with extended-range guitars. Leaving the Wampler velvet fuzz off the list is like leaving Picaso off a list of famous artists. I think Wampler velvet fuzz is not good enough to put on this list. There are so many excellent fuzz and Wampler is not that outstanding.

Disappointed the Fuzzrocious Grey Stache was not on this list. I think it sounds better than many of the pedals that are — at least to my ears. Does it not stack up? Or is it just not known well enough? This is just the perfect post for everyone who would like to understand the best fuzz distortion pedal.

You understand so much its almost tough to argue with you not that I really would want to.. Excellent stuff, just great! Keep writing and thanks for the sharing!!! Please review if you ever happen to stumble with one of those… Fuzz Away! Thank you for putting this together. I would add these for consideration in future lists:.

Definitely worth bookmarking for revisiting. I surprise how a lot attempt you set to make this type of magnificent informative website. Great list — but you seem to have missed out THE wildest one in my opinion! A small danish outfit… http: Noel Fuzz Japan 2. Dazatronyx Fuzz Australia 3. Helios Fuzz US 4.

Its a great list of Fuzzes. I recently bought a Kafuzz. It sounds amazing and the design is so cool! A pedalbuilder from Holland. Please check this out. The last one is the Evil Mother Fuzzer. All pedals are fully analog.

My favorite fuzz currently is my Deviever Shoegazer. I also got one of the last ones just before Dwarfcraft Devices bought the company from Devi. I would like to get the pharaoh in the future because it nails that scooped Sabbath-like fuzz that Iommi claims he got by just using his Laney amps.

It sounds just like the old records. Handmade, cool graphics and super fair price. Worth double what they charge. Smooth as hell, and even compliments my 7-string guitars nicely! I absolutely love the way it sounds. I also played the Fuzz God and I must say I would love to own that too!! What about Sasquatch from Tortuga Effects? You guys should check out the Blackout Effectors Blunderbuss. I believe it also has per amp boost knob as well to get a sort of overdrive fuzz combination.

I tried the Rocket WTF and was left pondering the aptly named title. The Jupiter is still a good fuzz, just not quite as versatile as the Deux Ex…which kills when setting the mids notch filter anywhere from 3: I read two articles: I found it odd that the best pedals included at least 3 fuzz boxes that were not included in the top 20 fuzz boxes of I love that fat fuzz factory…so much nice variations of sounds…. You can get an oz fuzz in germanium Or silicon. Thanks for your consideration, Steph.

I wish I could get my hands on that one. Love the fuzz fuzz factory!!! It seem to me that no mater where you go to get a top 10 list of pedal effects you are alway going to find Electro Harmonix in the mix. I just bought my first electric guitar and am in need of a pedal!!! I need some distortion in my life!! Been enjoying my z-vex fuzz for several years and have been modding pedals with JHS forever.

Looking forward to hopefully snagging something purtty from the list. There are probably Thousands of Fuzz Pedals out there it is difficult to sort through them all. Of course the local store usually has only 2 — 3 effects to choose from in any particular category. Thanks for the review And the Giveaway, Happy Holidays….. Two phenomenal OD pedals and they can be bought at great prices. Only a few are available through Rocketride at TGT Being a BJFanatic, I just had to buy it.

Only 11 were made… so you could call it a limited-limited edition. Bjorn told me that he mainly made changes to the fuzz and boost controls. The boost was improved to full-range whereas the stock thinned out the fuzz sound undesirably. As for the fuzz, to his ears there was a lot of noise in the decay of notes so he built a type gate that chops off the undesirable effect. Anyhow, although this is very limited, it might be worth including this in your top Electro Harmonix is doing smaller versions of a lot of pedals now the nano line and other smaller housings of certain pedals , sometimes with less controls or features.

So amazing, Jamie really killed it with that one. Thank you for such informative, yet concise reviews on all these fuzz pedals. This is a good list. I have the big muff with tone wicker. Great one for the money. The Walrus Audio Janus intrigues me. Well to me a fuzz is very interesting because its just a little more than my TS HW. A few month ago I wasnt even thinking about fuzzys but for whatever reason I started thinking of using it to get a little more dirt into my blues solo sound.

Usually I dont write the following but in this cause I really would like to win one of theser pedals because It need experience in fuzz pedals to find the one that fits the best to each personal style. All of these look superb, but some especially fit into the doomier stuff that I am writing just now! The newer Dunlop mini fuzz face germanium should also be mentioned. The Wampler Velvet Fuzz should be here. Cool history with the great effect that is Fuzz! The fuzz tones are reasonably subdued but the clean blend allows for some cool sounds.

With the gain dialed way back the distorted signal kicks in on the trails of the clean guitar. Which is pretty neat. You should do a review of an old school vintage Big Muff compared to one of the new Big Muffs, I think it would be awesome to see the differences!

Like one channel JRC D, the other germanium transistor. No one has ever done this. This is really useful thanks! The Hoof is so handy in terms of covering a vast range of BM tones and the Reaper does the same with every Bender era…I would insist that any fuzz junkie get this pedal! Big fan of anything Red Witch. Like the sounds Belamy gets out the Fuzz Factory as well. Especially excited about the new Red Witch Violetta. Glad to see Jakob using it, hope to get some similar sounds out of it.

Could definitely use a new fuzz pedal though, crushed the last one with my giant foot, traipsing around the den in the dark. What do pedal geeks and fans of music have in common? John Dwyer unveils a new nugget of awesome and we all win. I really love the Fat Fuzz Factory, its even more versatile than the original and you can come out with some pretty cool stuff out of it. I aslo like the Death by Audio pedals, pretty crazy shit.

What no Devi Ever? Been a while since she has made something but curious how the Console will sound. This makes me want more FUZZ!!! Or maybe Hoof Reaper? At least the Muff is still hanging in. Maybe I need to hear the new stuff. I like any fuzz with a splattery bottom end sounds gross right! Agree that this is a primo time for Fuzz and effects in general.

So many indy builders putting their spin on so many pedals. Makes it very hard to manage the pedalboard. So many great fuzzes out now! We are in the golden age of fuzz. The Hoofreaper is able to dial in so many variations of fuzz and distortion.

My friend has one and he can dial in beautiful light fuzz without taking away from any tone! That said, these sound awesome. The Fuzz Factory is a classic!!! Gonna check out the new version soon, Thanks! I have the Fat Fuzz Factory. Then I happened to see the Wah the fuzz? This thing has real tube OD, a muff type fuzz, an octave fuzz which can be used with or without the octave up and a fixed-wah.

All 4 effects independent of each other. This should definitely be added to the list. You need to get some BlackArts Toneworks on this list. I have no idea why they arent on the list. I have the pharaoh and its the most amazing fuzz pedal i have ever used.

The Fuzzhugger AB-Synth fuzz pedal seems worthy of this list. Very informative and interesting guide. It is always a pleasure to read about the most awesome effects ever used: It is a shame that the ones you listed are almost impossible to purchase in my country….

Thank you so much for posting this guide and for hosting this giveaway. This was very informative and fun to read, what a killer list. What a wonderful article. I have the big muff pi tw and it is awesome. I love it on my bass especially, but on guitar it sounds excellent as well. Devi makes some awesome and unique fuzz pedals. I also love death by audio products. Hopefully I can build a clone of the fuzz war. Some cool info here.

The Hoof Reaper and Fat Fuzz factory are on my list to try. That being said I bet the Frantone Peach Fuzz is pretty awesome as well. Great article, I have been looking for a fuzz pedal for a long time and need to narrow it down so this helped.

However, it is out of circulation and can only be found used. My favorite is the Janus … ehhh wait.. Like the review made on those twelve pedals. Hope next time you review the Enormous Door pedals!

They were famous at winter NAMM This article has really opened my eyes to some amazing fuzz boxes. I dug the Death By Audio stuff and the Hoof, but these make the decision even harder.

Not a bad job on choosing those BGE girls either. I think Creepyfinger effects should have had a mention on here, they are definitely on the top of the game. This Is a really great list. Very great list, though I am a little surprised at the absence of Black Arts Toneworks. Death By Audio make great fuzz, but I was curious about Cusack.

Excellent choices for fuzz pedals. I still think the tap function for the Cusack is a little odd. The EH Big Muff with tone wicker is easily the best choice for the price.

For all around, the Hoof Reaper covers all your bases without being a small mind puzzle to solve the fat fuzz factory. Keep up the articles. Love the sound of the Hoof Reaper! That octave low end really gives it a big chunk of the gnarly. Another pedal I love is the Austone Textone which is not made anymore.

Any fuzz made by Analogman, I own the dark peppermint and its the Bomb. I own the Hoof Reaper, it is insanity. So many options for tone. Already had my eyes on a few others as well. Thank you for the giveaway! Currently enjoying 3 fuzzalicious war toys: I am biased as I own one and like it with the buffer switch on.

That Rainger looks pretty twisted! I see myself using it for a loooooooong time. Always thought the Fuzz Factory was awesome, but there is a massive difference between the original Vexter and the Fat FF!

Massive fan of all of the Big Muff pedals too! I really like that you guys included the weird stuff! I was pleasantly surprised to find a couple of unfamiliar pedals on this list, thanks for the article.

I also bought a Fuzz Factory a month before the Fat version came out… gutted! Man, all of these are making me drool. Feel lost without it. And the big muff is also Nice, i use the Big muff Pi and i really enjoy it, so i think the big muff with tone wicker is awesome!

Freakenstein and the Janus are definitely two favorites of mine. I think a Devi Ever Rocket or Shoegazer deserves to be on this list somewhere, though. Happy to see the Janus on the list. Brady makes great pedals and I love my Voyager overdrive. The Fuzz God II has been ruling my board for a little over a year. I would love to have all that fuzz in my life, on my face, for my axe, and my bass. I use the Psychedelic Sasquatch by Tortuga Effects for my fuzz needs. Perhaps that should have been on the list as well.

I know I love mine. Frankenstein fuzz to hear with my own ears how crazy it can get. Mayor kudos on the HoofReaper, by far the coolest most wicked fuzz pedal out there! Thanks for this great rundown on the best fuzz pedals! I will be referring to this often, I expect. I would like to hear more about Wampler Pedals Fuzz Boxes as well. Maybe also some pedals where the manufacturers are now out of business and are getting hard to find.

Fuzz circuits are so simple yet can be so diverse from maker to maker! Fuzz is the greatest type of effect out there.

I need a ZVEX fuzz factory. Frusciante uses one to awesome effect. Gotta also give it up to the Janus, it always looked like such an interesting pedal, and Walrus Audio makes fantastic pedals! I wish my tremolo could do what the Cusack does….

Nice overview, the Apocalypse totally caught my attention. It behaves very well on valve amps. Not very friendly with my wah.. Sometimes someone nails it right from the get go and VLAD certainly did yrs before the whole wacky named boutique effects pedal industry came about. I have a Germanium Big Muff, it is hands down better than the Tone Wicker, adjustable voltage and bias and separate overdrive.

Of the pedals you selected I really like the hoof reaper — and thought it may be a bit older my favourite fuzz is the Himmelstrutz Gramps. I must also give you props for selecting some more imaginative pedals. Would live to give some of them a whirl!!

Death By Audio Apocalypse looks like it could be just the right amount of dark-sounding fuzz for my ears I adore crushing Russian Muff tones. Love fuzz tones and the fuzz factory is one of my favourite fuzz pedals, too bad that the really good pedals are always that expensive.

Never played with a fuzz pedal, but I would think, after many years the EHX should have perfected the Big Muff to stay on top of all the other boutique companies.

They definitely have one of the best prices. However Walrus keeps on slaying me with their pedals, I would love the Janus.

However I would probably die if they released a Kerberos - Janus with an Iron Horse, how mental would that be! Also—damn your fine print for us poor fuzz heads outside of the US, I would gladly pay the shipping. Wow, what an impressive array of fuzz pedals. Did not realize there was so much variety in controls. Bought a locally made fuzz, the Toxic Fuzz, earlier this year. Though the Hoof Reaper really got my attention…. Really hilarious review of the Red Witch fuzz pedal! Sounds great with a univibe for that great Robin Trower sound.

First time I saw the Janus I thought it was a gimmicky folly. Then I looked at demo videos because guys were gushing about it. Thing does some amazing tricks.

Thanks for bringing all these killer fuzz pedals together. I love fuzz and I would like to use a few different pedals with varying settings as there are so many tonal possibilities. Great selection of pedals guys! Thanks for making my continuing search for great new tones a little easier but now I have to convince my wife I need one!

Argh… only other effects junkies understand! Diggin this site bigtime…! Gabriel, your passion is contagious. Any of these fuzz boxes would be awesome on my violins. Thanks for the chance to win one of these babies.. I think the Bigg Muff is awsome. You can never have too much fuzz, some good choices there but there are a bunch not on there as well!!

Would love to win one of these. EQD Hoof is just amazing! I love most of the Muff clones out there, but I need more! You can never have too much fuzz! I was hoping to see the Blackout Effectors Very Special Twosome in this list, because that;s the one i swear by. It was a toss-up between that and the Red Witch Fuzz God but I read too many bad reviews about the reliability of the Fuzz God so went for the Twosome. Nice list that fuzz factory is mental, certainly fuzz.

Thanks for the reviews very helpful fantastic site. Thanks again for your great reviews, lol man I have decisions to make here! Devi has more fuzz that I know what to do with and still tops my Must Have list.

There are so many fuzz tone choices out there…almost too many. So many fuzz pedals! Thanks for compiling the pedals in one place. I love getting my fuzz set in such a way that a chord seems as though it was magically played from one string.

Would love to try some DBA fuzz one day. Yeah Cancion its really amazing..!! I also looking for these some best fuzz pedal in the last few days, finally i found this. The Best of the Best.
